Meeple Movers is looking for an energetic, friendly, and reliable Associate to join our team! This is a hybrid role that combines the best of retail and hospitality. You will be the face of our board game cafe, ensuring every guest—whether they are here for a coffee, a tournament, or to buy the latest game—has an unforgettable experience.  

What You Will Do:

Guest Experience & Sales:

• Warmly welcome customers and handle inquiries (phone and in-person) with a positive attitude.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, processing payments and returns/exchanges.
• Actively promote add-ons, membership rewards, and upcoming events to enhance the customer experience.
• Learn and retain product knowledge to help customers find the perfect game or product.
• Provide limited instruction for game rules to get customers playing quickly.

Cafe Operations:

• Take customer orders for food, coffee, and alcohol (beer & wine).
• Prepare and serve food and drinks, including operating the coffee machine and ovens.
• Maintain a clean dining area by clearing tables, washing dishes/cutlery, and sanitizing surfaces between usage.

Store Standards:

• Maintain the store’s organized appearance through general housekeeping (dusting, sweeping, cleaning restrooms/kitchen).
• Monitor inventory levels, replenish supplies (napkins, straws, etc.), and alert management when stock is low.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding food quality, equipment issues, or special product needs.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Must be 18+ years of age (required for serving alcohol).
• Reliability: You have reliable transportation, are punctual for shifts, and can work unsupervised when needed.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; ability to lift boxes up to 20 lbs; comfortable with bending and reaching.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, a happy/positive demeanor, and the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced team environment.
• Proficiency with computers and software programs (POS, scheduling programs, calendars, etc).

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

• Retail Sales Experience: Previous experience in a retail setting with a focus on up-selling or consultative sales is a huge plus.
• Social Media & Marketing: Familiarity with creating content or engaging with communities on social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) to help promote our events and brand.
• Previous kitchen, barista, or waitstaff experience.
• ServSafe certification.
