Step By Step Tragic Death Grief Support Ministry is a faith-based nonprofit founded by Dr. Will Chambliss and Dr. Brenda Miller-Chambliss after the 2020 unsolved murder of their son, Tyler Randolph Eugene Williams. The ministry was created to address a critical gap in grief care—support for survivors of murder, suicide, and traumatic loss—after Dr. Brenda was told, “We don’t work with murder or suicide. We only work with more traditional death.”
Step By Step provides structured survivor care gatherings, tragic-loss grief recovery workshops, national conferences, and media outreach through the Healing Conversations Podcast and Step TV streaming platform. The ministry also includes CHOICES, a gang-alternative, faith-based youth mentor program for at-risk youth ages 6–17, founded in Tyler’s memory, and is developing the C.A.R.E. (Crisis Aftercare Responders Equipping) Network to train churches and organizations in effective aftercare response.
Through ministry, media, training, and community partnerships, Step By Step exists to transform pain into purpose and to create safe, compassionate pathways of healing, hope, and restoration for individuals, families, churches, and communities.
